The search can be performed using our search engine interface at http://www.egfar.org/information-gateway/publications-area/search-publications.
Besides, the GFAR repository supports XML exports compliant to both Dublin Core - the default metadata set for the FAO Electronic Information Management System (EIMS) - and the AGRIS AP format. Thanks to the AGRIS AP export, GFAR is now an AGRIS Center and contributes its records to the AGRIS search engine.
Records in the AGRIS AP format are exported on request.
The subject vocabulary adopted is the GFAR taxonomy, which has been mapped to Agrovoc for better interoperability.
Feeds from the repository: info for webmasters
An RSS feed of the latest 50 documents uploaded to the repository is available at:
http://www.egfar.org/rss/documents
If you want to retrieve all of the publications, you can do it in batches of 50 by adding ?page=n to the RSS URL, n being the page number.
So for instance if you want the last-but-one batch of 50 documents type:
http://www.egfar.org/rss/documents?page=2
Dynamic XML exports: info for webmasters
Please use this feature with caution. Harvesting dynamic feeds at short intervals could overload the FAO server where the service is located.
You can get an XML file of filtered results by calling this URL (a service provided by the FAO EIMS software) and passing one or more of the parameters below:
http://www.fao.org/eims/secretariat/gfar/eims_search/advanced_s_result.asp?xml=Y&
Parameters:
- QueryString (searches the title, abstract and author fields: for the moment, only a one-word search is accepted)
- Title (for the moment, only a one-word search is accepted)
- Pub_year (publication year)
- recordsperpage (the number of records you want to retrieve: it's recommended not to ask for more than 50 records at a time)
- Pub_id (only if you know the ID in the repository: it is useful if you want to retrieve a single record)
The sort order is by publishing year/submission date, descending.
