We improve people’s lives by providing information and applying scientific expertise to solve problems in agriculture and the environment. CABI helps address the challenges of food security by helping farmers grow more and lose less. We do this by improving crop yields, safeguarding the environment and improving access to agricultural and environmental scientific knowledge.
Our mission and direction is influenced by member countries who help guide the activities undertaken. These include scientific publishing, development projects and research, and microbial services.

The Global Agricultural Research Archive (GARA)
This resource has been set up to digitally capture and create an agricultural knowledge archive on behalf of developing countries around the world. The aim of the project is to preserve, disseminate and apply this valuable material and the knowledge it contains, for the benefit of current researchers and generations to come. The archive will be centrally managed and maintained to enable preservation and disaster recovery and the long term protection of knowledge which might again become inaccessible.

R4D is a free access on-line database containing information about research programmes supported by DFID. R4D provides you with the latest information about research funded by DFID, including news, case studies and details of current and past research in over 30,000 project and document records.
