The FAO Technical Knowledge Classification Scheme was established as part of the development of the FAO Knowledge Forum (http://www.fao.org/KnowledgeForum/index_en.htm). This classification was created with the purpose of mapping FAO staff technical expertise and FAO activities. It will be used to standardize the content description of FAO information objects making them more interoperable, and thus enabling the FAO community of users to access and hopefully share the information described using the classification.
